Legacy Configurable Product Migration and Conversion Services

eSpline has helped SAP customers examine their existing home grown, legacy or third party configuration rules and defined a series of prototypes, pilots and processes allowing them to map, cleanse, harmonize, translate, and upload to an SAP VC knowledgebase.   Often this is a one-time effort.  But, it certainly can save you months and in one example years of consulting effort vs. doing it manually

•Most projects involving creation of new SAP configurable product models have existing sources of product data, and often new content must be created as well. 

• The conversion can be efficiently and safely accomplished using general techniques and specific product data.
• Best practices and tools reduce the cost of migration and risk of introducing errors
• Conversion of product configuration rules can be accomplished with declarative techniques.

eSpline has developed techniques and software tools enabling semi-automatic or "annotated" conversion of legacy or 3rd party configurator solutions and then provided bulk uploads into SAP for VC and IPC customers.

• The source of the product data has been legacy applications, paper catalogs, and personal knowledge.
• The motivations to migrate to SAP included:  improvement of manual / paper processes, consolidation of SAP instances due e.g.. to merger/acquisitions, and reduction of costs of custom software.
