During the sales process, we have had the opportunity to gather customer
requirements and under most circumstances have collaborated with the customer on
the steps to define the project from planning to Go Live. Once the
Start date is agreed to many things begin to happen.
The eSpline Project Manager or Project Lead will start a process that will
define a PMO [Project Management Organization} with process responsibilities,
decision makers, project reporting and collaborating with the customer for
specific training, specific milestones and specific business oriented deadlines.
Staffing will be identified and where needed full-time resources from the
customer will be identified. Training Workshops will be scheduled.
Process changes will be identified. All these and many more lead to a
"Contract" for the project team. eSpline, Configit and the customer become
that team.
Communications plans will be developed to assure that issues are identified and
resolved quickly. Business units will be involved in the process because
these organizations are the people that will benefit from the new capability.
Change will be the standard and it will be critical for the "As Is" and "To Be"
processes to be defined and documented and workshops planned to mitigate risk.
Again, during the pre-sales process, we have examined at a high level
representative samples of the SAP VC product models and now will begin an
in-depth examination of all product models to ready them for export to VT
Distiller for SAP. The review process ideally will reveal few problems.
Part of the early reporting will be our assessment of the "Health" of the VC
product models.
